Manjula
Manjula is a master when it comes from Bottlebrick making. She gives a dedicated 2 hour every day to make bottlebricks from plastic generated in her own residence as well as around her community. She also is a lover of plants and she loves spending her morning hours in her tiny paradise of garden where she plants all local indigenous flora. She uses the scarps from her kitchen as compost and allows nothing to go to waste. Being a homemaker she says, ” I cannot always go out and clean the roads because I have family responsibilities but that does not stop me from doing the bit I can within my own home. I cannot preach what I do not practice and I wish to be apart of the solution more than the problem”. She has been supporting us from when we were just an Idea within a small room!
Karma
Karma or better known as Bhaiji, has always been known for his mischievous nature and out of the box actions. Little did he know that this would make him a brilliant interior designer. GreenAmmo’s first GreenCabin located in Himachal Pradesh, Shang, would not have been possible without Bhaiji’s contribution not just in giving us access to the place but also re-designing it into a cozy, warm and innovative location of stay. We are first-hand witness of his constant hard work, both physical and mental, towards making the cabin a home! He says, “ I think different and I have been told that far too many times. Instead of sitting over it, if I can put that into good use, why not!“
Melkia
Melkia, is a young student from the West Khasi Hills. We met while GreenAmmo was making its first furniture set for the Vintage Hub Restaurant in NEHU (Shillong). Inspired by the idea of bottlebricks, he decided to run a similar campaign in his village. This young mind was successful in mobilizing his entire village towards weekly cleanups within the village and ever since they have been making bottlebricks. Our vision is to together make a small library where children can study/work and gain leadership skills just like Melkia towards betterment of their community and village. He says, “I do not want the boys of my village to go in untrodden path, they deserve a safe place to learn and grow”.
Semanti
Semanti, is a visual communicator filled with creativity knitted in simplicity. She is an animal lover and has been rescuing as well as fostering animals be that dogs, cats, squirrels, birds or anything that needs help, since her childhood. Knowing the vision and goals of GreenAmmo in and out, she designed our Logo with the very simplicity, yet elegance, that she believes in. Whenever we are on the edge of designing we are rest assured that Semanti is just a call away. Despite her busy schedule she always takes out the time to help us with her inputs. She says, ” Designing is my passion and it takes a considerable amount of my time as it has become my profession as well. If I can use this passion positively towards nature, I will never think twice.“
